Sick Building syndrome (SBS)

• The actual home construction systems are increasingly associated to symptoms of Sick Building Syndrome manifested by acute discomfort: e.g., headache; eye, nose, or throat irritation; dry cough; dry or itchy skin; dizziness and nausea; difficulty in concentrating; fatigue; sensitivity to odors; cough; chest tightness; fever; chills and muscle aches.

Among the most important factors associated to SBS are formaldehide, fiberglass, radon, mold and mildew, treated timber and termite fighting pesticides. The Terra-Steel system naturally avoid all of them:

Formaldehyde is found in particle board and plywood, used in traditional wall construction, -it is not used in the Terra-Steel walls.

Fiberglass insulation is one of the most common home building materials today: Large fibres can cause itching and skin irritation; smaller fibres are suspected of causing lung diseases and cancer in a manner similar to asbestos.

Fiberglass in contact to humidity creates also the perfect environment for growing black mold. Black mold can be associated to many health effects you might experience.
